Site Plan for Perimeter Fencing – White’s Chapel Cemetery
PROJECT:
REQUEST: White’s Chapel Cemetery Association is requesting approval of a Site Plan for the
construction of a perimeter six foot (6’) ornamental iron fence with six foot (6’) stone
columns along two sides of the existing White’s Chapel Cemetery. The cemetery is
located on approximately 2.3 acres at the southeast corner of E. Southlake Boulevard
(F.M. 1709) and S. White Chapel Boulevard. The proposed fence will run parallel to
F.M. 1709 to the north and S. White Chapel Blvd. to the west, extending along the
southern property boundary approximately eighty feet (80’) east of White Chapel
Boulevard. Site Plan approval is required to allow for a variance to the articulation
requirement for architectural fencing along F.M. 1709. The proposed fence encroaches
into the right-of-way for F.M. 1709. Approval from TxDOT is required prior to
construction in the right-of-way.
VARIANCE
REQUEST: Zoning Ord. No. 480 Section 43.9.c.1.f requires that all fencing along F.M. 1709 shall
not run in a straight line without being off-set by a minimum of six feet (6’) every sixty
feet (60’). Due to the limited area between the right-of-way and the cemetery, the
applicant is proposing that the fence runs in a straight line.
