What you see on your screen are preliminary representations of an art selection
process which has been taking place since mid-summer. Artists Liz Bonham
and Archie St. Clair are the two artists which we feel will help enhance the DPS
Headquarters main entry, interior courtyard and areas inside the building.
Tonight, I’d like to ask for your approval of these artists to produce and design
art for the City’s DPS Headquarters. But before we talk about the artists in
depth, I’d like to spend a moment talking about the process which led to their
recommendation.

Here are some projects Ms. Bonham has completed in the past. Of course
you probably recognize the mural at the bottom of the screen as the piece
which is such an important part of the children's’ section of the Southlake
Public Library. The upper right mural is of the Shady Oaks barn, and the
upper left shows wisteria vines on White Chapel

Here are examples of Mr. St Clair’s completed projects. The sculpture on the
right is now in Australia and is two times life size…. To the left is Mr. St, Clair
standing next to a very familiar figure.

Here’s a final look at the proposals of Ms. Bonham and Mr. St. Clair. Again, we
are seeking approval from you to award these artists the contract to design and
produce art for the new DPS headquarters. The allotted monies for the project
total $285,000.
