Item 4LItem 4-L Ordinance No. 937-B 1st Reading Ken Baker Ordinance No. 937-B Amending the 2006 Edition of the International Residential Code to establish the minimum standards for the installation of residential irrigation systems. Ordinance 937-B – Background The 2007 Texas Legislature adopted House Bill 1656 requiring cities over 20,000 population to regulate the installation of irrigation systems for the purpose of conserving water; effective January 1, 2009. TCEQ subsequently amended Chapter 344 of the Texas Administrative Code adopting Rules for implementation. Ordinance 937-B This ordinance adopts the standards for design and installation as required. This ordinance is consistent with Ordinance 895-A adopted last summer as the drought contingency plan. Plans will be required to show compliance with the new standards.
