Market Trends
U.S. Small Wind Turbine Industry Fending for Itself
The U.S. small wind turbine market grew 14% and deployed 9.7 megawatts (MW) of new capacity in 2007. Numerous new start-up manufacturers entered the market and smallwind media inquiries
at AWEA were at an all-time high, reflecting this growth. However, growth paled in comparison to its market counterpart, the solar photovoltaic(PV) industry, which experienced a 53%
growth (200 MW) in the same period.
