Item 10A (2)Item # 10A Discuss Proposed Funding Plan for Log Cabin Enhancements Chris Tribble Timeline Information Log Cabin constructed by Marquis Construction & Restoration Construction was considered “new” construction, and required modifications to obtain a CO City Council previously approved the Site Plan subject to Site Plan Review Summary No. 1 and subject to the City Manager’s recommendation that a funding source be identified at a later date Design for next phase is complete and we now have cost estimates that would require a budget amendment Background - Construction Hotel Occupancy Tax Fund ($97,000) Log Cabin Construction SPDC Matching Funds ($8,500) Historic Wagon - $1,000 Rock Fire Place and Chimney - $5,000 Back Porch - $2,500 SPDC Operating Fund ($22,333) Site Plan Design Documents – $6,875 As-Built Construction Documents - $7,860 Architectural & Civil Engineering Construction Drawings - $7,598 TOTAL INVESTMENT TO DATE = $127,833 Background - Investment to Date Design for next phase complete with cost estimates that will require budget amendments Proposed changes to the Adopted FY 2010 Annual Budget SPDC CIP Amendment ($62,106) Additional funds in the amount of $44,000 for modifications to the log cabin in Bicentennial Park - Modifications required to meet ADA regulations - Include construction of an ADA accessible ramp & associated walkway, and modifications to front porch, front doorway and door - Once complete - visitors will be able to enter the cabin Additional funds in the amount of $18,106 to construct an ADA accessible parking area near the cabin Proposed Funding Plan for Log Cabin Utility Fund Amendment ($43,394) Improvements to a portion of the water tower drive near Bicentennial Park - Long-term plan is to improve the drive from White Chapel up to and around the water tower - Log cabin makes it necessary to expedite the improvements to the first section of the drive so that an ADA accessible parking area may be constructed just off the drive near the cabin Proposed Funding Plan for Log Cabin PHOTOS P1 P2 Investment to Date $127,833 Proposed Amendment $105,500 Total Investment = $233,333 If City Council desires to move forward with the proposed funding plan, a Public Hearing will be scheduled with the formal budget Amendment Construction would begin within the next couple of weeks Proposed Funding Plan for Log Cabin Questions?
