Current policy was adopted in February 1996
Park Naming Policy Committee, including Park Board Members Margaret Adams, Julie Landesberg, and CS Director Tribble, reviewed policies of 10 other municipalities
Park Board provided feedback to staff at their September 14, 2009 meeting
Park Board recommended (7-0) revisions to the policy at their October 12, 2009 meeting
Revisions to Park Naming and Renaming Policy
Existing Procedures:
May be named for any deceased individual(s) or group(s) who have served the community
May be names for any deceased local, state, national or international figure(s).
May be named for any local, state, or national geographic area, landmark or event.
May be named for any symbol or concept associated with the City of Southlake, the State of Texas or the United States of America.
