Appoint members to the following Southlake 2030 Plan element committees:
Economic Development & Tourism Plan– 1 Southlake Business Council
Member
Mobility Plan Committee – 1 CISD Representative
Community Plan Committee - 1 Parks and Recreation Board Member &
1 CISD Representative
Youth Plan Committee – 1 SPARK Member & 1 SYAC Member
All Committees – Appoint the Mayor as an “Ex-Officio” member to all
remaining committees (Previously appointed as an Ex-Officio to the
Vision, Goals and Objectives Committee & Land Use Plan Committee)
GENERAL
BACKGROUND:
The development of the Comprehensive Plan (Southlake 2030 Plan) will be the
result of a dynamic planning process and will require the input from members of
various boards and commissions to oversee this process. More specifically, the
role of the Southlake 2030 Plan Element Committee members is as follows:
Oversee and guide the development of the Southlake 2030 Plan
process;
Develop vision, goals, objectives, & plan elements based on
information received and community input;
Analyze community input & deliberate policy alternatives as they relate to
land use, mobility, economy, parks and recreation, open space, community
facilities, water, sewer and stormwater and sustainability.
Make recommendations concerning the development and implementation of
the Southlake 2030 Plan to the City Council.
Below is a list of the elements that will make up the 2030 Plan. At its July
st
21 meeting, the City Council made the majority of the appointments to the
various 2030 Plan Element Committees. However, there are still a few
positions remaining to be filled on the following committees: 1) Economic
Development & Tourism Plan; 2) Mobility Plan; 3) Community Plan; and
4)Youth Plan Committee. Also, appoint the Mayor as an “Ex-Officio”
member to all remaining committees (The Mayor was previously appointed
as an Ex-Officio to the Vision, Goals and Objectives Committee & Land Use
Plan Committee). The positions to be filled are highlighted on the list below.

RESOLUTION NO. 09-067
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE VARIOUS
SOUTHLAKE 2030 PLAN ELEMENT COMMITTEES
WHEREAS,
a Home Rule Charter of the City of Southlake, Texas, was approved by the
voters in a duly called Charter election on April 4, 1987; and,
WHEREAS,
the Home Rule Charter, Chapter XI requires an update to the City’s
comprehensive plan (Southlake 2030 Plan) every four years,
WHEREAS
, the City Council has determined that the Southlake 2030 Plan will consist of
the following elements: 1) Vision, Goals & Objectives Committee; 2) Area Plans & Land Use
Plan; 3) Economic Plan; 4) Mobility Plan; 5) Parks, Recreation and Open Space Plan; 6)
Community Plan; 7) Water, Sewer and Stormwater Plan; 8) Sustainability Plan Committee; and 9)
Youth Plan Committee,
WHEREAS
, the City Council has determined that the various Southlake 2030 elements will
be developed by committees appointed by City Council,
WHEREAS,
the these committees will develop plan elements that will be presented to
City Council after a recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission for
consideration,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1.Southlake 2030 Plan Element Committees are hereby established.
Section 2. All of the findings in the preamble are found to be true and correct and the City
Council hereby incorporates said findings into the body of this resolution as if copied
in their entirety.
Section 3.The City Council hereby appoints the following members to the various Southlake
2030 Plan Committees:
1) Economic Development & Tourism Plan – name to be listed;
2) Mobility Plan – name to be listed;
3) Community Plan –names to be listed;
4) Youth Plan Committee –names to be listed.
5) All Southlake 2030 Plan Committee – name Mayor as an “Ex-Officio”
Section 4. This resolution shall become effective after its passage and approval by the City
Council.
