Item 4D AudioCity Council Members: Item 4D on the consent agenda is for approval of a professional services agreement for the design of the TW King Meter Station with Freese and Nichols, Inc. in the amount of $66,600. 1 The construction of the wholesale water meter at the TW King Pump Station site links to the City’s strategy map relative to the focus areas of Infrastructure and Performance Management and Service Delivery. The specific corporate objectives that are met by the construction of this meter station include Providing high quality customer service and investing to provide and maintain high quality public assets as well as collaborating with partners to implement service solutions 2 This is a map indicating the location of the proposed meter station located at the TW King Pump Station. 3 In February 2007, The City council awarded the Route Study to Freese Nichols, Inc. which identified 2 potential alignments for 30” water transmission line. The preferred route chosen was along the proposed FM 1938 site. 4 The City Council awarded the construction contract for Segments A and F of the 30 inch water line on February 3, 2009 and construction is currently underway. The design of Segments B, C, D, and E is 90 percent complete. Construction is anticipated to began on one or all of these segments in the spring of 2010. This water line is needed in order to meet the water demands anticipated by 2012 for the City of Southlake. A new wholesale water meter station is required by the Wholesale Water Meter Contract between the Cities of Fort Worth and Southlake. 5 The total design contract amount is $66,600 and includes a Line of sight SCADA Path Study, Design of the Vault in which the meter will be constructed, and also provide general representation during the construction for the City. 6 Staff recommends that Council Award the professional services agreement for the design of the TW King Meter Station with Freese and Nichols, Inc. in the amount of $66,600. 7 Please contact Bob Price with any questions regarding this item at 817-748- 8097. 8
