adopted Senate Bill 1354 prohibiting cities from charging a contractor registration fee to plumbers effective September 1, 2009. Ordinance 961 Trade Contractors licensed by the
state include: Electrical Contractors Irrigation Contractors Mechanical Contractors Plumbing Contractors Water Well Driller & Pump Installer Ordinance 961 Under this ordinance
a Trade Contractor as defined is not required to register due to regulation by the state. General Contractors are still required to register with the city and are regulated by the
city code. Ordinance 961 The Building Inspections permit fee resolution was scheduled for review in the coming month. This new fee resolution will offset the reduction in registration
fees. Ordinance 961 Other requirements of this new law being addressed administratively include receiving applications, fees and issuing permits on-line. Ordinance 961 Motion – Add

changing the contractor Registration Ordinance. In response to the passage of this bill the city will need to amend it contractor registration ordinance. * * In addition to the plumbing
contractors – the single trades listed on the slide are required to register with the State. This ordinance will eliminate the registration requirements with the city. Single trade
contractors will still be required to pull a permit and pay. At that time the permit technician will verify that the contractor is properly registered. * It is expected that any loss
revenue Adjustment of the International Building Code valuation table –– increase the price of commercial building permits (interior, new building, new space) – new table will effective
October 1, 2009. Single trade permit – do mechanical work on the job outside a general permit. We will raise this cost from $25 from $50 to $75. * * Senate Bill 1354 passed in the
