Item 4HItem 4H Approve naming of a section of Liberty Garden in honor of Dorothy Wood Background Staff has been working w/KSB the last several months on plans for future improvements to the
western section of the Liberty Garden. KSB President Wendi Carlucci proposed that this portion of the Liberty Garden improvements be named the “Dorothy Wood Education Center” in honor
of her service to the Southlake community. The proposed landscape plan would include the acceptance of donations to purchase earth kind roses and Texas Superstar plants to be planted
in and around raised beds of herbs, flowers, etc. this fall. Naming Section of Liberty Garden for Dorothy Wood Naming is allowable within the existing guidelines “A park facility may
be named for a deceased individual(s) who have served the community.” The Parks and Recreation Board recommended approval to name a section of Liberty Garden after Dorothy Wood (9-0)
