Excellent customer service and coverage Rate renewals based on: Claims paid HMO better than average; PPO high Dental average Health industry “trend” Medical inflation, services used, Medicare/Medicaid Aetna Rate Renewal Proposed Source: (Segal Health Plan Cost Trend Survey, The Segal Company, www.shrm.org) Plan changes included increased co-pays and deductibles, increased premiums for employees Aetna Rate Renewal 5.0% rate increase; no plan changes. Estimated cost increase for FY 2010: Medical benefits $60,762 Dental benefits $2,661 Funds included in proposed FY 2010 budget. Kevin Hugman (817) 748-8193 Item 4F Tarrant County Tax Collection Contract July 21, 2009 Contract Provisions Since 1982, Tarrant County has collected property taxes for the City; Tarrant County charges $.65 per parcel; The fee is very reasonable charge for the service provided ($7,500) Contract Provisions The contract provides for daily disbursements when collections exceed $100 or the close of the month; There are provisions that allow the City to perform an audit of the County’s collection process; QUESTIONS? Please contact Sharen Jackson 817.748.8042 Item 4H Approve naming of a section of Liberty Garden in honor of Dorothy Wood Chris Tribble Background Staff has been working w/KSB the last several months on plans for future improvements to the western section of the Liberty Garden. KSB President Wendi Carlucci proposed that this portion of the Liberty Garden improvements be named the “Dorothy Wood Education Center” in honor of her service to the Southlake community. The proposed landscape plan would include the acceptance of donations to purchase earth kind roses and Texas Superstar plants to be planted in and around raised beds of herbs, flowers, etc. this fall. Naming Section of Liberty Garden for Dorothy Wood Naming is allowable within the existing guidelines “A park facility may be named for a deceased individual(s) who have served the community.” The Parks and Recreation Board recommended approval to name a section of Liberty Garden after Dorothy Wood (9-0) at their July 13, 2009 meeting.
