Yelverton, City Manager Subject: Item 4L: Appoint Chris Tribble as Director of Community Services Action Requested: City Council approval Item 4L: Appoint Chris Tribble as Director of Community Services Background Information: The Southlake Charter requires that “The head of each department shall be a chief, director or superintendent who shall be appointed by the City Manager subject to the approval of the Council and such chief, director or superintendent shall have supervision and control over his department.” Chris Tribble has served in Southlake as Interim Director of Community Services since April 2008 and Deputy Director of Community Services since 2006. Mr. Tribble has a total of 23 years of Community Services experience and has also held Community Services positions with the City of Mesquite, Texas; the Community Associations of the Woodlands, Texas; and the City of Hurst, Texas. Mr. Tribble holds a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology / Exercise Physiology as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Science Kinesiology / Biology from the University of North Texas. Mr. Tribble will bring to Southlake extensive community services experience and is familiar with Southlake and the local community. With your approval, his appointment will be effective January 21, 2009. Financial Considerations: This position has been extended to Mr. Tribble with a monthly salary of $9208.34 plus the standard executive benefit package.
