PROJECT: Specific Use Permit for an Accessory Building at the Tennis Complex in
Bicentennial Park
REQUEST:
The City of Southlake is requesting approval of a specific use permit to allow an
accessory building to facilitate storage at the tennis complex in Bicentennial Park. The
details of the building are as follows:
The size of the building is approximately 15’ x 20’ with a height of
approximately 12’.
The north and south building exterior is proposed as brick veneer and cast
stone to match the materials to be used on all new structures approved
with the Phase 1 park improvements recently approved. The east and west
facades are proposed to be a masonry Hardi-board.
VARIANCE
REQUEST:
Each facade must consist of a minimum of 80% masonry material meeting the
requirements of the overlay district and must match the principal building structure(s).
Hardi-board is not permitted masonry material nor does it match the materials to be
used on the principal buildings.

boundary of the tennis court complex at Bicentennial Park.

being proposed.

There will not be any trees removed for this building.

March 5, 2009; Approved (4-0) granting the variance for the use of Hardi-board
instead of each facade consisting of a minimum of 80% masonry material, and

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, GRANTING A SPECIFIC USE PERMIT FOR
AN ACCESSORY BUILDING ON NON-RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY
WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, ON PROPERTY BEING
DESCRIBED AS LOT 2R2, L.B.G. HALL NO. 686 ADDITION AND
BEING TRACTS 1, 1B, 1C1, 1C2, 1C3, 1E, 2A, 2A1, 2A2, 2B, 2B1,
3C, 3C1, 3C1A, 3D, 3D1A AND 3D6 IN THE L.B.G. HALL SURVEY
ABSTRACT NO. 686 AND BEING LOCATED AT 400 N. WHITE

WHEREAS
, in accordance with the requirements of Sections 45.1(44) and 45.16 of the
City’s Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance, the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City
Council have given the requisite notices by publication and otherwise, and have afforded the
persons interested and situated in the affected area and in the vicinity thereof; and,
WHEREAS
, the City Council does hereby find and determine that the granting of such
Specific Use Permit is in the best interest of the public health, safety, morals and general welfare of
the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS:
