PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION

MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Pro Tem Carolyn Morris, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem John
Terrell, and Councilmember Virginia M. Muzyka.
CITY COUNCIL ABSENT: Mayor Andy Wambsganss and Councilmembers Laura K. Hill,
Gregory Jones, and Vernon Stansell.
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION PRESENT: Chairman Al Morin, and
Commissioners Darrell Faglie, C.D. Peebles, and Jeff Wang.
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION ABSENT: Vice - Chairman Brandon Bledsoe,
Commissioners Robert Hudson and Mike Springer.
STAFF PRESENT: Assistant to the City Manager Ben Thatcher, Director of Public Works Bob
Price, Deputy Director of Public Works Gordon Mayer, Deputy Director of Community Services
Chris Tribble, Chief Planner Dennis Killough, Chief Planner Jayashree Narayana, Planner Jenny
Crosby, Office Assistant Clayton Comstock, and City Secretary Lori Farwell.
Chief Planner Narayana made opening comments beginning at 6:08 p.m. and introduced the
project consultants, Dennis Wilson of Townscape, Inc., and Kurt Schulte of Kimley -Horne.
Mr. Schulte presented preliminary recommendations on median locations on F.M. 1709 and
Davis Boulevard. The group discussed proposed median locations, types of medians, and widths
of travel lanes. Aerials of the entirety of F.M. 1709 were available for the group to review and to
discuss specific situations and preferences.
Mr. Wilson gave a brief status of the study and next steps involved.
No action was taken.
The work session was adjourned at 8:03 p.m.
