Background Information: Teen Court is a volunteer program which allows juvenile misdemeanor offenders an alternative to the criminal justice system while allowing them an opportunity to assume responsibility for their own actions. Teen Court brings juvenile offenders to a jury of their peers and to the community for constructive punishment which will provide the youths with an understanding of the judicial system and a realization of their roles in their community. The Teen Court Advisory Board is comprised of nine (9) members; two (2) members at large appointed by each City (Southlake, Colleyville, and Grapevine) and one (1) City Council liaison from each participating city. The terms for Sandra Sobocinski (City of Southlake Representative), Teresa Campbell (City of Southlake Representative), and Laura K. Hill (City Council Representative) expired in May 2009. Supporting Documents: Resolution No. 09-032 Listing of current board members Applications submitted for consideration Staff Contact: Lori Payne, City Secretary RESOLUTION NO. 09-032 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE METROPORT TEEN COURT ADVISORY BOARD; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. All of the above premises are found to be true and correct and are hereby incorporated into the body of the resolution as if copied in their entirety. SECTION 2. The City Council appoints the following members to serve on the Teen Court Advisory Board. City of Southlake Representative (term ends in May 2011) City of Southlake Representative (term ends in May 2011) City Council Representative (term ends in May 2011) SECTION 3.
