Pottery Barn’s outdoor patio within the City right of way of
Grand Avenue for the development located at 1440 Civil Place.
Action
Requested: Approve an Encroachment and Joint Use Agreement for Pottery
Barn’s outdoor patio within the City right of way of Grand Avenue for
the development located at 1440 Civil Place.
Background
Information: The purpose of this item is to seek City Council approval of an
Encroachment and Joint Use Agreement for the installation of an
outdoor patio area within the City right of way of Grand Avenue for
the development located at 1440 Civil Place. This agreement will
allow the developer to place an outdoor patio area within an
existing parallel parking space, sidewalk, and planter located within
the right of way at the northwest corner of the Civil Place and
Grand Avenue. The proposed design would eliminate one parking
space, and will be installing a pedestrian ramp over the top of an
existing storm drain pipe. The proposed design will not impede
pedestrian sidewalk access along Grand Avenue, will not alter the
existing tree wells, and will not impact the existing storm
infrastructure.
Staff is requesting City Council to consider the proposed right of way
encroachment of Grand Avenue for the proposed improvements for
the development at 1140 Civil Place.

Considerations: This is a no cost agreement.
