The Advisory Commission on Persons with Disabilities will hold its next meeting on
Monday, March 23, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Legends Hall Board Room at The Marq
Southlake (285 Shady Oaks Drive). A light dinner will be available beginning at 6:00 p.m.

A. Upcoming Programs and Events
The purpose of this item is to discuss upcoming programs and events
occurring in the community, such as the Adaptive Easter Egg Hunt.

B. City of Southlake Website Project
The purpose of this item is to discuss the CityofSouthlake.com, including an
overview of the current site and its accessibility features. The Commission
will provide feedback on usability, accessibility, and opportunities for
improvement to better serve individuals with disabilities.

C. Follow-up: Disability Community Data Insights Program Framework
The purpose of this item is to discuss the framework additions and changes
to the Disability Community Data Insights Program that the Commission
provided to staff during the February meeting.

The purpose of this item is to share the data and results from the Citizen
Satisfaction Survey with the Commission, which will include details on the
adaptive services questions that were asked.

4A. FOLLOW-UP ON PROGRAMMING UPDATES AND COMMUNICATION
IMPROVEMENTS
Director of Community Services David Miller provided an update on Abilities
Ignite, the program discussed during ACPD’s February 2, 2026, meeting, and
was available to answer questions.
Direction to Staff: N/A
4B. CITY EVENT ACCESSIBILITY
Director of Community Services David Miller introduced Director of Economic
Development and Tourism Daniel Cortez. Mr. Cortez provided the Advisory
Commission with a presentation specifically focused on accessibility at City
events, including a detailed overview of his department’s planning process
before, during, and after each event. The Commission provided feedback and
engaged in discussion.
Direction to Staff: The Advisory Commission directed staff to explore additional
sensory-friendly areas, increase accessible spaces, and improve cord
management.
4C. DISABILITY COMMUNITY DATA INSIGHTS PROGRAM FRAMEWORK
The Assistant to the City Manager Stacey Black provided an overview of the draft
Disability Community Engagement and Insights Form and received feedback from
the Advisory Commission on Persons with Disabilities.
Direction to Staff: The Advisory Commission on Persons with Disabilities directed
staff to make edits to the draft to include their suggestions.
