Subject: Item 4G: Approve the purchase of equipment and services from
NetSync for network infrastructure for the Municipal Service Center
and Public Safety Training Tower in an amount not to exceed
$216,000.
Action
Requested: Approve the purchase of networking equipment and related
installation services from NetSync for the Municipal Service
Center (MSC) and Public Safety Training Tower (PSTT)
project, in an amount not to exceed $216,000.
Background
Information: The purpose of this item is to seek City Council approval for
the purchase of networking equipment and related installation
services for the Municipal Service Center.
The proposed project includes:
• Network switches and supporting infrastructure to
provide connectivity across two floors of the main
Municipal Service Center building, the service building,
and the training room.
• Installation of wireless access points to provide reliable
and secure Wi-Fi coverage throughout both the
Municipal Service Center and Public Safety Training
Tower facilities.
The network infrastructure will support daily City operations,
enhance staff connectivity, and ensure reliable
communications for training and public safety functions.
The NetSync proposal includes enterprise-grade Cisco
switching equipment, wireless access points, licensing, and
related components necessary to support the network
environment.
The procurement of these goods and services complies with
State and City purchasing requirements.
The equipment is being procured through an approved
cooperative purchasing program (DIR Cooperative Contract),
as referenced in the NetSync quote.

Use of the cooperative purchasing contract:
• Satisfies competitive bidding requirements under
Texas Local Government Code
• Provides competitively solicited pricing and terms.
• Allows the City to streamline procurement while
ensuring best value.
Financial
Considerations: Funding for this project is available in the Capital Improvement
Program for the Municipal Service Center and the Public
Safety Training Tower project. The total requested
authorization amount of $216,000 includes equipment,
installation, and contingency for potential changes,
coordination needs, or minor scope adjustments.
