The Advisory Commission on Persons with Disabilities will hold its next meeting on
Monday, February 23, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Legends Hall Board Room at The
Marq Southlake (285 Shady Oaks Drive). A light dinner will be available beginning at
6:00 p.m.

Insights Program framework, including its purpose, scope, and use in

Chair Laura McCaskill presented item 2A, approval of the minutes from
the November 17, 2025, Advisory Commission on Persons with
Disabilities.

3. PUBLIC FORUM
Chair McCaskill opened the Public Forum at 6:32 P.M.
Colleen Golestan expressed interest and gratitude to the Commission for its
service.

4. DISCUSSION
4A. MEETING REMINDERS
Director of Community Services David Miller provided an overview of the meeting
packet process and explained how the Advisory Commission will receive meeting
reminders via email.
Direction to Staff: N/A
4B. NEW PROGRAMMING UPDATES
Deputy Director of Community Services Ryan McGrail presented Item 4B and
discussed the newly available Adaptive Recreation Program, Special Strong. He
also provided an overview of potential future Adaptive Recreation program
opportunities, including examples such as an adaptive Easter egg hunt and a
Touch-A-Truck event.
Direction to Staff: The Advisory Commission on Persons with Disabilities directed
staff to explore potential program opportunities with CISD and feasibility of
complementary training sessions.
4C. DEEP DIVE INTO ADAPTIVE PROGRAMMING
Director of Community Services David Miller presented a review of the new
adaptive programming enhancements at Champions Club and highlighted
programs made possible through the partnership and support of the Advisory
Commission on Persons with Disabilities.
Direction to Staff: The Advisory Commission on Persons with Disabilities directed
staff to explore possibilities that included a Marquee event in the future and
continuing to research what other Cities are offering.

4D. COMMUNICATION: WEBSITE AND COMMUNITY RESOURCES REVIEW
Assistant to the City Manager Stacey Black presented a review over the recent
enhancements to the City’s Website and communication tools related to adaptive
programming.
Direction to Staff: The Advisory Commission on Persons with Disabilities directed
staff to include a link to the CISD Booster for Special Programs and MHMR of
Tarrant County. They also recommended making the email link more prominent
and adding the Miracle League letter to the site.
6. ADJOURNMENT
Advisory Commission on Persons with Disabilities Chair McCaskill adjourned the
meeting at 8:19 P.M.
