ZONING. BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS MEETING
The Board of Adjustments meeting was called to order by chairman,
George Kolb on January 28,1980 at 8 p.m.
Present for the meeting were: George Kolb, chairman
Eleanor Kasper, assistant chair.

Absent for the meeting were: Mary Dorsett

The minutes of the Januray 14,1980 meeting were approved as
presented. However, there was a question concerning the Hall/
j Rockenbaugh item being deleted from tonights agenda.
After discussion, it was decided that the City Secretary is to
write a letter to them concerning the status of their mobile
home, which was given permission as a temporary variance.
Agenda Item 1. Consider: Case # 14. Request of Howard Thrasher
to live on his property, zoned "L" Light Commercial,
while constructing a convenience type grocery store,
The home is presently on the property in question,
Located in the Thomas M. Hood Survey, Abstract 706.
2 acres of land. Public Hearing.
Mr Howard Thrasher was present and explained his request to the board.
Mr. Thrasher ownes 2 acres of land on the northwest corner of
Highway 114. The land has been zoned Lt Commercial for several years.
His residence is on the property. Mr. Thrasher requests permission
to continue to live on the property for a time, while building a
convenience store and until the business is established/making
a non conforming use.
After discussion, Eleanor Kasper made the motion to allow him to
build the store while continuing-to live in his existing house for
a period of five years. After the five year period, he is to
again come before the board of adjustments to state his position.
Carolyn Poe seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
Agenda Item 2. Consider: Case # 12. Decision for Charles Stevens,
concerning his previous request. Property is located
in the W.W. Hall Survey, Abstract 687.
A discussion was held concerning the request of Charles Stevens
to place two modulare structures on his property for the housing
rr of the persons in his employment. Motion was made by Carolyn Poe
to grant a variance to Mr. Stevens, allowing him to construct the
two modulare type structures on his property, provided the structures

are placed on permanent foundations and are built according to
the City of Southlake Building Codes and the proper inspections
are made and approved by the city Building Inspector.
Walter Garrett seconded the motion. The motion was approved
unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned by chairman, Kolb.
