1959-04-11 ..r`wn■n..rr+.~i■■rir■rr■..r~+ u MINUTES OF THE REGUTAR bEETING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL, TOWN OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, APRIL 110 1959 Pursuant to the call of the Mayor, and to notice given to all members of the Town Council, stating time, place, and purpose of the meeting, the regular meeting of the Town Council, Southlake, Texas, was held Saturday, April 11, 1959, at Carroll School at 2s p.m. The following members were present constituting a quorum: MAYOR: John M. Stevenson COUNCILME14 ; C. M. Gordon L. A. Casey W. C. Cummings J. J. Carlile Gus T. Halbert Mr. Eubanks, the out-going Mayor, read Resolution No. 13. This resolution acknowledges the result of the April 7, 1959 City Council election. C. M. Gordon moved that the resolution be accepted as read, - L. A. Casey seconded the motion, which was approved unanimously by the council. The out-going Mayor installed the new Councilman and the new Mayor. The new council members took the oaths of of{ ice. The New Mayor, John M. Stevenson acted as the Presiding Officer,. The Council elected J. J. Carlile as Mayor Pro Tempore. A letter of resignation from the corporation judge was read by Mr. Eubanks. A motion was made by C. M. Gordon and 40 seconded by J. J. Richardson was re-appointed as City Marshal by the new Mayor AN Mayor Stevenson asked for recommendations from each Councilman A for the Board of Adjustment. C. M. Gordon and L. A. Casey were appointed to check the Building Code ordinance to determine 4i wh6the r or not the building permit rates were reasonable. ar 40 MINUTES April 11, 1959 Page 2 Mayor Stevenson outlined the duties of the City Marshal. The Marshal was instructed to issue only warning tickets for traffic violations until April 25, 1959. Effective immediately after April ~5, the Marshal was instructed to issue traffic violation tickets. A motion was made by Gus Halbert and econde by J. J.
