MINUTES OF THE REGULAR FETING OF TOWN COUNCIL,
TOWN OF SOUTHIA,KE, TEXAS. February 14, 1959

Pursuant to the call of the Mayor, and to notice given to all
members of the Town Council, stating time, place, and purpose
r of the meeting, the regular meeting of the Town Council,
Southlake, Texas was held Saturday, February 14, 1959, at the
Carroll School. The following members were present constituting
a quorum:
MAYOR: A. Gail Eubanks
COUNCITISEN W. C. Cummings
J. J. Carlile
C. M. Gordon
L. A. Casey
• Also present were Frank Denton, Jurl L. Richardson, Judge Graves,
and citizens of Southlake.
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor. The minutes were
read and approved. A letter written to the citizens of Southlake
was read by the Mayor. Also read was an aft- Acle written by
a Washington correspondent and published in "The Fort'Sorth
Star Telegram.." This article explained the desirability of a
zoning ordinance in cities and incorporated areas.
The Mayor read a letter from the Carroll School P. T. A
thanking the city for the donation. He also read a letter from
the Grapevine Schools thanking the council for amending the
traffic code, which would require passing vehicles to stop
when a.school bus is loading or unloading children.

An Order of Election resolution was read by the Mayor. The,
election is to be held April 7, 1959. The Order of Election G
explained the places open for office, the election officers,
and the procedures to be taken to run for office. The resolut on
was discussed by the Council. C. M. Gordon motioned that the
resolution be adopted. J. J. Carlile seconded the motion. `
yr It was approved unanimously by the Council.
No further business coming before the Council, the meeting was
adjourned.
