1958-11-08 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING AND PUBLIC HEAR:: ING OF TOWN COUNCIL OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, NOV. 8, 1958 ~r Pursuant to the call of the Mayor, and to notice given to all members of the Town Council, stating time, place, and purpose of the meeting, the regular meeting and public hearing of the Town Council, Southlake, Texas was held Saturday afternoon November 8, 19580 at Carroll School. The following members were present constituting a quorum: MAYOR: A. Gail Eubanks WA COLNCILMEN: 1 J . J, Carlile W. C. Cummings no L. A. Casey C. M. Gordon` 4klso .present were city attorney G. P. Gleeson, Judge Albert Graves, Building Commissioner, Frank Denton, and City Marshall J. L. Richardson The mayor opened the meeting by announcing receipt of the City Marshall's bcnd which permitted him to become a bonded officer of the law. It was given the secretary for the file. An installment was received from the Texas Power and Light Company on their gross receipts tax. The check was presented to the treasurer to deposit. At the request of Attorney Gleeson, the Mayor read a letter received a from the Office of Civil Defense of Fort Worth. The letter asked the cooperation of the Town of Southlake in case of National emergency eonditionow, Its mission is the establishment of emergency lines of succession for wr governmental of icials, preservation of essential records, establishment of emergency locations for government operations, full utilization of all personnel, facilities and equipment of governments for emergency operations. ■r C. M. Gordon moved the Council co-operate with the Office of Civil Defense, J. J. Carlisle sedonded the motion, and it was approved unanimously""" e Attorney George P. Gleeson was introduced to tine remideds present at the public hearing by Mayor Eubanks. Mr. Gleeson gave a resume of -Ordinance No 119, entitled, "An Ordinance Establishing Tem ora Zoning Regulations and Districts In T_e Town Of Southlake. exas. The ordinance was then put before the members of the public hearing and the Councilmen for discussion and questions concerning the Ordinance. eb Mr. Frark Denton, building commissioner, further explained the zoning ordinance and answered questions brought before the Council.
