1958-08-09 03 ' MINUTTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF TOWN COTR CIL TOWN QF S 0UTHLLKE, TEK&S, kUGUST 9,19 58 ' 1 Pursuant to the call of the Mayor, and to notice given to all members of the Tpwn Council staoting time, place and -)urpose of the meetr1g, the regular meeting of the Town Council, Southlak Texas was held Saturday afternoon, August 9, 1958 at CarrollMR following members were present constituting a quorum: Mayor: A... Gail Eubanks Councilmen:. J.J. Carlile L.A. Casey W.C. Cummings Also present were city attorney G.P. Gleeson and Mr. RicbLrdson. The meeting was called to order by the mayor and the minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The financial report was given as follows: Balance July I $393.97 Recd. ( S.W. Telephone) 40.00 Pd. Out (Mrs. quinn) $12.50 Balance Aug. I X1+33.97 The question of zoning was then brought up. Since the city planning commission was not present, the discussion was postponed. s The Mayor then brought up the subject of improved postal service for.~< Oak Knolls Addition. Mr. W.C.. CurntrAngs stated that he had met with the postmaster at Grapevine and a plot of Oak Knolls had been made up and also a numbering system. This system was recommended by Mr. Cummings and Frank Denton. After discussion a motion was made by Mr. Cummings that a resolution be drawn up to adopt the recommended plot for the Oak Knolls additibon. Mr. J.J.: Carlile seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Mr. Richardson was present as a candidate for mars_~al. His qualifications were reviewed by the council and his acceptance was recommended. An allowance of a dollar a day and $15.00 to get t'ae radio installed in his. car were suggested. Mr. Cummings made a motion that the council give Mr. Richardson the assignment as marshall for a 30 day trail period, with allowance and radio installation fee. The motion was seconded by Mr. Casey and passe. unanimously. He will be reviewed at the next council meeting. There was no further business coming before the council. The meeting was adjourned.
