City of Southllake
November 99 1963
Meeting was called to order by Mayor J. R Tate. Answering roll call
were J. D. Cate, Earl Williams, J. J. Carlile; Mr. Ben McClure, Keller
Austin, W. G. Miller were present, as were several guests, whose names
appear on a list attached hereto.
Routine business matters were attended: a report from TP and L and checks
for the last period (2% franchise) were deposited. Speed limits were again
discussed but in the absence of Mr. Crumbaker, no i'inal action was taken.
Mr. Tate reported that the land between Keller and Southlake had been
petitioned for annexation by Keller. This was approved by all as the
matter had been under discussion f'or some months.
Mr. Tate again reminded the group that the time was rapidly approaching
when the City would have to consider ways and means of expanding its zoning for
industrial areas. ..as calls of inquiry were increasing.
Routine bills were approved for payment.
Mayor Tate then turned the meeting in the direction of the trailer park
problem which had been held over from the previousi month. All adjoining
and adjacent property-owners were present and they were informed that they
might signify their wishes by ballot FOR or against, but that final action
would be in the hands of the City Council. The ballot results indicated
four against the installation and two for..
FOR: Billy Garvin, whose signature authorized Mrs. Fannie K_elsch Ray to act
in his behalf; and Mrs. Fannie Kelsch Ray.
Against: E. Paul J nes, who had authorized Mr. G G. A exander to act in his
behalf; Mrs. C. H.~Kelsch, G. G. Alexander, Tom Champion.
After a review of this balloting, the council elected to advise Mr. Wood
against making any further plans to operate a trailer park on the land under
question; the trailer presently on the land would be allowed to remain if
proper temporary permit was secured--this was in the form of a motion made
by Earl Williams and seconded by J. D. Cate.
Motion made to adjourn by Earl Williams, seconded by J. J. Carlile.
Respectfully submitted,
