1963-10-12 City of Southlake October° 12, 1963 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Tate. Answering roll. call was Paul Schell, W. H. Crumbaker, Earl Williams, and quite a few guests. W. G. Miller, Keller Austin, Irene Nelson, of the City, were present. Meeting of the previous monthffad' left incomplete business in regard to a proposed. trailer park on property owned by Mr. J. C. Wood, Sr. This was the considered first on the agenda. Nmers of adjoining "land had been contacted for an opinion in regard to the trailer park. Those present and accounted for were Mrs. Fannie Ray, G. G. Alexander and wife, Billy Garvin, E. Paul Jones. It was pointed out that another owner, who had not been notified through error from reading of the maps of the area, should have an opportunity to state an opinion. Therefore, the action of council was delayed until the next regular meeting. Mr. Tate spoke to the group along the lines that the council and Board of Adjustments had been in numerous conferences and would try, to the very best of their ability, to reach a decision which would best serve the interest of the community as a whole. Mr. Tate read from the ordinance (No. 119) which clearly states that all the area within the confines of the city was zoned as residential property and any change therefrom must go through due process. Mr. John Quinn made a few remarks to add emphasis to the importance of complying with this regulation. A list of the names of the guests at this meeting was made and is made a part of this record on the following attached page. After many discussions pro and con, this portion of the meeting was concluded and routine business of the day considered. Bills were approved for payment; speed limit signs were discussed and a committee composed of J. D. Cate, W. H. Crumbaker, with Mr. Keller Austin, was designated to see that such traffic signs were installed. Mr. Tate spoke once more of the feasibility of having a survey made at some time in the near future on the zoning and re-zoning of areas in the city, because it is evidenced that expansion is at hand. On motion of Earl Williams, seconded by V. H. Crumbaker, the meeting was adjourned. Respectfully submitted, Ma yot' Secretary p~o o ne.,o,,d,-. Nit d
