The .regular meeting of the City Council was held at
2 PM on March 17, 1962 in the City Hall, with Mayor John
+ Stevenson presiding.
Answering roll call were Councilman John Cope,
J. J. Carlile, C. M. Gordon, Earl Williams. Also present
were Marshal Keller Austin and the secretary. Mr. Hagradine,
a property owner in the City, was present--only as a guest,
he stated.
A letter from the Corp of Engineers was noted and
passed on to the Lessee of Rockledge Park. This corres-
pondence dealt with the length of time a trailer might
be parked in the Park area.
A financial report from Texas Power and Light was
noted. Routine bills were discussed and OK'D for payment.
Also, a statement from Communications Service, Inc., was
considered. This was repairs on the Marshal's radio and
in the opinion of the Councilmen and Mayor, the company
had erred in the charges. An adjusted amount, based on
actual time, etc., was suggested and the secretary
instructed to send a statement along with the check in
amount of $21.56 outlining why the deduction had been
made.
The signs previously ordered were in evidence and
bills for mounting the large sign as well as the sign
itself were approved. These were $17.50 to Grider and
Ratliff for mounting and $15.00 to Don Blea for the
painting. The small sign over the city's doorway was
not paid for at the time because of some unfinished detail.
Motion was made by C. M. Gordon, seconded by J. J. Carlile,
to pay this $5.00 upon completion of the work. Motion
carried.
On motion of C. M. Gordon, the meeting was adjourned.
