CITY OF SOUTHLAKE
The regular meeting of the City Council was held on November
11, 1961 at 1 PM in the new quarters for the City Corporation Court.
Representatives from the Texas Power and Light Company, Mr. Jack
Johnson , principal of Carroll Independent School District and Mr.
Clyde Cheatham, member of the school board, were present. Answering
roll call of the Council were Mayor John Stevenson, R. E. Williams,
C. M. Gordon. Mr. Keller Austin and the city secretary were present.
Inasmuch as there was not a quorum of the council present, no business
was transacted.
Discussion and review of the previously submitted plans of r
the Rockledge Park improvements ensued. The plans were returned to
Mr. G. W. Smith of the new lessee, who in turn, was to deliver the,
plans to Mr. C. E. Davis of the Corp of Engineers ~ : , - '
The Texas Power and Light Company presented its' agreement
whereby the Carroll School would obtain its' electric service on the
City's MSL-1 rate. The net saving to the school through 1961 will
amount to $489.24 (the adjusted rate being retroactive to date of
incorporation).
Checks were issued on bills previously approved by the
council: balance on marshal's liability (car) insurance $46.00,
(error in computing original insurance cost), Cecil R. Barnett,
printing traffic tickets $32.55, Frank Lanford $32.00, Keller `
Austin 75.00, Irene Nelson $10.00, building materials and labor
used'on Corporation Court offices: A. W. Hitt $180.00, W. E. Guest,
desk, $5.00; the electric wiring statement had not been presented.
