1961-10-14 City of Southlake October 14, 1961 The regular meeting c&he Council was held on October 14, 1961 at 2 PM. Answering roll call were Mayor John Stevenson, J. J. Carlile, C. M. Gordon, W. C. Cummings, R. E. Williams, councilmen, and Mr. Keller Austin, Marshal,. Minutes of the special called meeting on September 18, 1961, were read by Mayor Stevenson and approved by the members of the Council. A letter from the U. S. Corp of Engineers was read and Mr. W. C, Cuummings was delegated to contact the new concessionaires of Rockledge Park to work out a calendar of activity which would conform to the governmental requirements for operating such a concession. A general discussion led to moving the time of each regular council meeting up to one ocloek on the second Satzmday of each month rather than the two oclock time. A bill for the insurance due on Mr. Keller Austin's car (the amount over and above civilian coverage) and the deputy bond, total statement from Yancey and Yancey being $66.00, was approved by the council after motion by R. E. Williams, seconded by W. C. Cummings. The Council further agreed to purchase of 500 traffic tickets (not to amount to more than an expenditure of 00.00) for Mr. Austin to use in connection with his duties as marshal. This was done on motion of C. M. Gordon, seconded by R. E. Williams. Mayor Stevenson asked if a lease agreement approved by himself and Mr. Ben McClure for the quarters in Casey's Store Building for the City Corporation Court, could be signed and work started, before the next meeting of the City Council. This request was given unanimous approval. On motion of R. E. Williams, the meeting adjourned. yor Secretary
