1960-09-10 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MUTING OF THE miN coun L, mu OF 50uTmAn, Tzxks, SSPTmER, 196o Pursuant to the can of the Mayor and to notice given to all members of the Town Council stating tame, place, and purpose of the meeting the regular meeting of the Town Council of Southlake, Texas, was held September 10 at the Carroll School. The following members were present constituting a quorum: Mayor John M. Stevenson .r Councilmen W. C. Cummings C. M. Gord on Earl Williams ` Marshal Austin and Mr. McClure also were present. The meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 2:15 p.m. The minutes of the last two meetings were read and approved with one correction of the July minutes. A financial report showed a balance of $1918.71. Mayor Stevenson read a letter of resignation from the City SecretWy, Miss Judy Stinson. On motion of Mr. Gordon the resignation was ac- cepted. On motion of Mr. Williams the Council unanimously approved the appointment of Mrs. Irene Nelson to the position of City Secretary. ~r 779 Mayor porrwnted a Highway Department Ordinance to the Council. The Council discussed school signs, which will be pct up, and insurance an the Marshal's car. The county comni.ssionerts working in an incor- porated area was also discussed. Mr. McClure agreed to look into the matter. Mr. McClure was asked to have some copies made of the City map. .r Mr. Williams reported on the progress of the Carroll School ball park. Men from the Carroll School Board talked with the Council. It was stated that the cost of getting the poles and wiring up and the switches installed would be $476.00 plus additional materials estimated at $100.
