1960-06-11 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE 4 TOWN COUNCns, TOWN OF SOUTHLAns TEEASO JUNES 1960 A Pursuant to the call of the Mayor and to notice given to all members of the Torn Council stating tiles places and purpose of the meeting the regular meeting of the Torre Council of Southlakes Texas, was held June 11 at the Carroll School. The following members were present 40 constituting a quorum: Mayor John M. Stevenson CAuncilmen J. J. Carlile John Cope ~r W" C. tannings C. M. Gordon Earl Williams Also present were Mr. Gas Halberts Mr. B. 1. Moreman# aid Mr. L. A. Cassy. The Mayor calked the meeting to order. The minutes of the last regu- lar meeting were read and approved. The minutes of the special meeting in May more reads and a correction was added conadmimg the installation of the Marshal's radio. • The mutes were revised to reads "Jitter a discussions Mr. Cmatings moved that the City purchase the radio from Robert Stark and authorize Marshal Austin to negotiate with Robert Starts to install the radio for not more than $415 net." The radio was installed in the Marshal's car for $415• The Mayor asked that a note be put in the minutes to check with Mr. McClure on bringing the nap of the City up to date. A concession agreement between the City of Southlake and Mr. Moreman was discussed by the Council. The Mayor stated that Mr. Moreman had resubmitted his bid and that the contract was in order and protected the City of Southlake against any r expense or unwarranted liability. He explained concession agressants and how they function to the Council. He also read the concession agreement to the members of the Council. a The Mayor read a letter he had written to the District Engineers Ft. Worth Districts stating that a copy of the concession agreement between Southlake and Mr. Moreman was being respectfully submitted to the Corps 49 of Engineers for approval. ~k Mmmm, JUNE, 3,960 2 Mr. Williams > that the Council approve the contract and snbait it to the Corps of Inginsere for their approval. Mr. Gordon seecmded the motion which was adopted unanimously by the Council. ' The O nneil discussed a layout for a ban park. Mr. Williams said that Texas Power and Light bad agreed to give the City any assistance it, could in~J up ,the ~ ` ' 7C . The Mayor anhounoed a public meeting to be hole! WO p.m., Monday, June 20 at the Grapevine Civic Curter to discuss the new highway to be built from west of Grapevine to the Bell .as County line. The Mayor had re- ceived a letter requesting the City Council to contact Mr. Crook of the Highway Department to discuss any questions before the public hearing. Mayor Stevenson agreed to contact Mr. gook, and the meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, June 14,1 1960, at Carroll School at BsOO p.m. The Mayor showed the Council the map of this highway.
