1960-05-14 A..Uf~. ■P.r rrrr~.rra AYE MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETITTG OF THE TOWN COITT CIL, TOINNT OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, UAY, 1960 wrr Pursuant to the call of the Mayor and to notice given to all members of the Town Council stating time, place, and purpose of the meeting the regular meeting of the Town Council _of Southlake, Texas, was held May 14 at the Carroll School. The following members were present constituting a quorum: Mayor John Mt. Stevenson Councilmen W. C. Cummings .r C. M. Gordon m Earl Williams Also present were Marshal Keller Austin, Attorney Ben T.IcClure, Mr. Ben Burrus, Mr. Wayne Frank, and Yr. ?lore man. The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m. by Mayor Stevenson. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved with a correction. The Mayor presented a letter about a North Ft. Worth Business Association meeting. There was a discussion of the county commissioner's race. Mr. Williams, Yr. Burrus, and Mir. Frank reported on the progress of the baseball association.being organized by Carroll, Colleyville, and Smithfield. The Council discussed what Southlake could contribute. Yr. Williams agreed to tall., to Texas Power and Light about helping with the work, and Mayor Stevenson agreed to contact the Tri County REA. :Tr. McClure reported on his work on the use tax. The council discus- sed how to bring the map of Southlake up to date. On motion of Mr. Williams the Council voted unanimously to disregard, because it was not necessary, the plan to publish a financial statement in the Grapevine Sun. :.r On motion of Mr. Gordon the Council unanimously re-elected 'Mr. J. J. * CarI731e'`as Mayor Pro Tempore. The following appointments were made for one year by Mayor Stevenson: Miss Judy Stinson was reappointed as City Secretary. ■ lAr. Keller Austin was reappointed as City Marshal. aIr. Frank Denton was reappointed as Building Commissioner. Yr. Benjamin lei. McClure was reappointed as City Attorney. r,+'ir. Reid Jamison was reappointed as Corporation Court Judge. MINUTES, MAY, 1960 2 Reappointed to the Board of Adjustments were: Mr. John Quinn - Chairman. 1Tr. Charles Young 1r. L. T. Cathcart Tr. Judson Joyce Mr. Crawford Nall r On motion of Mr. Gordon all reappointments were approved unanimously by the Council. A concessionaire contract for Southlake's part of the lake property was 0 presented by Mr. 11oreman. The Council and 114r. %FcClure looked over and 61 discussed the contract. Mr. iaoreman was asked to revise the contract and submit it to Trir. I,icClure to give to the T"a'ror. The secretary reported a :16 payment to Mr. Frank Lanford for'..trying cases.
