1966-05-17 Special Meeting wwi May 17, 1966 City of Southlake Because of several pressing matters, a special meeting of the City Council was called. Answdring roll call were all councilmen. The mayor served as secretary for the meeting. The first item of business centered around the J. C. Wood Trailer Court zoning request. A plat which Mr. Wood had submitted to Mayor Schell was studied. It appeared to meet the requirements Council had previously requested. After general discussion, motion for zoning the area was made by Earl Williams, as follows: "I make the motion that council approve the request for rezoning for use as a trailer court, the 21 acres as shown on the plat attached which has been submitted by Mr. J. C. Wood. The land to be used as a trailer park only by Mr. Wood, with a maximum of twelve trailers as shown on the plat. In the event operation of the original park is discontinued, or property sold, leased, or any change in management, this entire tract will automatically revert back to single dwelling residential zoning." The motion was seconded by J. J. Carlile, and carried. Mr. Schell stated he would inform Mrs. Lavon Baird that a permit for same could now be issued and that the amount of $2.50 would be sufficient therefor. (Based on property improvements.) Next came a discussion as to whom people should apply for all new water taps. It was agreed that J. J. Carlile should first be contacted and a check be made to see if the minimum fee would cover the charges. When this was agreed upon, then the money therefor should be turned over to the city secretary, Mrs. Nelson, in order that all records could be kept in order. An item of discussion came up in regard to hearsay concerning Mr. McClellan's voiced statement about starting a trailer court in defiance of city ordinances. A note from Robert Gladney verified the city council's belief that an instrument had been signed in obtaining the loan for the water system that indicated the city was non-encumbered--as far as debt or existing franchise to anyone for the purpose of distributing water.. No further action was taken on *by items of business which came up for discussion. Meeting adjourned by mutual consent. pax;-T-Of, For the record: It was discussed ICLO at this meeting that notices should Mayor be sent to fad trailer residents in the area whohnot renewed their temporary permit. Instead of turning this task of notification to Keller Austin, as first discussed, the notices were designated as a duty of the city secretary.
