1964-11-23 SPECIAL MEETING OF STEERING COMMITTEE AND COUNCILMEN FOR Water Program November 23, 1964 R"p Upon request of the Water Commission Sterring Committee, a joint council and commission meeting was held oA November 23, 1964 in Southlake City Hall at 7:30 PM. The following Council members were present: Earl Williams, W. H. Crumbaker, J, J. Carlile, J. D. Cate, J. R. Tate, Mayor. The following Water Commission Steerinj Committee members were present: Reid Jamison, J. E. Douglas, Jr., Bob ockenbaugh, H. M. Hunter, W. F. Jackson, Lloyd Brown, F. R. Denton, Dennis Howard. In addition two visitors were present: Charles Wood and Dr. D. T. Gerschick. ' The meeting was called to order by J. R. Tate who served as presiding officer. The visitors were asked to state their business and they advised they were interested in hearing what progress had been made on the water project. After a brief resume' of the happenings up to date, the visitors left. The following items of business were transacted: a receipt form suggested by Mr. Ben McClure to be given for payments of water taps was accepted; the First National Bank of Grapevine was named as depositary for the funds collected; it was decided that checks should be made to the Southlake Water Cirperation; after general discussion as to the distribution of the application " forms, it was decided to hold a public meeting. A committee composed of Bob Rockenbaugh, F. R. Denton and J. R. Tate wasenominated and elected to see to the publicity for this meeting. Appointment of a consulting engineer was the next topic of discussion. After much pro and con it was decided that more than one engineer should be asked to submit bids--or preliminary proposals for the water system. F. R. Denton, H. M. Hunter and Earl Williams were appointed to a committee to develop this. The matter of joint meetings of the council and steering committee was next discussed. It was mutually agreed that these should continue until after the proposed public meeting at least. And, that they should continue to be held on Monday nights at 7:30 PM. , Meeting was adjourned.
