Council Meeting
City of Southlake
October 12, 1964
~r
The meeting was called to order by Mayor John R. Tate. Answering roll
call were J. D. Cate, Paul Schell, Earl Williams. Mr. Emory Jones was
a visitor.
Minutes were read and approved. Financial report made and routine bills,
m approved. Comments and discussions on progress of the water program consumed
considerable time, however, no action was taken by council on this project.
r Mr. Jones was asked to state his business and this had to do with a request
to the Tarrant County Road Commissioner (Mr. Dick Lewis) for signs. Mr.
Jones asked Ciuneil's support in obtaining "NO PARKING WITHIN TAN FEET OF
m HIGHWAY" signs on the cross road (Whites' Chapel) as well as on the highway
around Jones Brothers Cafe and Auction Barn. Emory pointed out that when
the buyers and spectators parked too far out (close to the highways) vision
was barred and the crossing became hazardous. Council instructed the secretary
to write Mr. Lewis seeking his cooperation in this safety measureo
A The cost of liability insurance on the Marshal's car was discussed,
s1W Mr. Austin suggested the coverage be limited because of the age of the .
cat and that medical payments could be eliminated. Council voted, however,
to abide the decision of the insurance agent and leave the coverage as
it stands for the term of this insurance at least.

Simmons, Earl Williams made the motion to accept this ordhance number 125
