Council Meeting
City of Southlake, a
July 7, 1964
7:30 PM
The regular meeting of the council was opened by Mayor Tate.
Answering roll call were Councilmen Earl Williams, J. D. Cate,
J. J. Carlile and W. H. Crumbaker. Also present were John Quinn a
of the Board of Adjustments and John Stevenson.
An immediate discussion was launched about the proposed or
future plans for a water supply for the city. Mr. Tate and Mr.
Stevenson presented a few highlights which they had learned
through a meeting with a member of the Farm Howe Administration
earlier in the month, Many ideas were expressed in regard to the
feasibility of the city's undertaking such a venture.
The financial aspect was developed as well as other phases of the
A
operation. It was decided that a group of men, some eight or nine,
should be invited to attend a meeting on July 10, at the city hall
w
at which time the representative from Farm Home would be present to>
answer queries. This group would have no power to act but would listen
in the nature of a steering committee and advance their ideas as to the
workability of a water supply system.
The fact that a new corporation court judge would have to be appointed
a
was noted and routine bills approved for payment. More discussion about
a water plant ensued and meeting was adjourned on motion of J. D. Cate,
seconded by all coun ilmen present.
