1964-06-09 City Council Meeting June 9, 1964 7:30 PM a~ The meeting was opened by Mayor John R. Tate. Answering roil call were w Councilmen J. J. Carlile, Paul Schell, Earl Williams, W. H. Crumbaker, J. D. Cate. Mr. Cleburne Eubanks, Mr. Bobbie Long, were visitors. Mr. Ben.McClure, City Attorney, was also present# along with Mr. G. W. Hargadine. Mayor Tate invited Mr. Long to state his business. A report from the zoning committee was to be given Mr. Long in regard to rezoning a certain areg owned by his father, C. W. Long, to be used for the.purposes of a barber and beauty-shop. This matter had been previously submitted to the Zoning Commission and Mr. Hargadine, chairman of'the committee, read the report to the Council. (Report and recommendation of committee on separate sheets and are a part of these minutes.) w After a brief discussion of the matter, J. J. Carlile made the motion that the committee's report be accepted and that permit be issued Mr. Long for the construction of the barbershop-beauty-parlor building.. J. D. Cate seconded the motion and it carried. Mr. Eubanks was invited next to state his business. He merely wished to obtain the city's sanction for a permit to move his house to new land because of the expansion program of the Carroll School. Inasmuch as this move was a part of the school's building program# council voted to grant the permit without fee. This.was done on a motion by Earl Williams, seconded by Paul Schell, carried. Mr. Earl Williams brought up a subject which had been tentatively discussed before. That the records of the city were incomplete and should be brought up to date. The secretary was instructed to proceed with this project in the near future in whatever wanner was most practical and economical. Earl Williams made a motion to this effect, J. D. Cate seconded, and motion carried. The meeting time of the Council was definitely changed to the first Tuesday evening of each month by unanimous approval of the councilmen. The secretary was instructed to send announcement of such change of ► meeting time to the Grapevine Sun. Discussion of tentative plans for considering the installation of a water supply system for the residents of Southlake took up the remainder of the meeting time. Routine bills were approved and the meeting adjourned on motion of Paul Schell, seconded by Earl Williams. 40 Ivu, Secretary ayor ,40 'MW
