Special Meeting
.March 7, 1964
Mayor Tate opened the meeting at 7s30 PM held in the City Hall,
Answering roll call were councilmen, Paul Schell, J. J. Carlile,

Earl Williams, J. D. Cate. Also present were Mr. L.A. Casey,
V Bill Hicks, manager of the Western Hatchery properties, Mr.
Irving. Cope.
Mr. L. A. Casey read a letter of plea to the council. A copy of
said letter is included in the minutes of this spedal meeting.
Briefly, the.request was rezoning of the land he owns on the corner
of highway 114 and Carroll School road on which he operates a
grocery store, service station, feed store, beauty shop,, and
washerteria and trailer court. The Texas Highway Department has
indicated that in the future, a certain number of square feet will
w
be needed for widening the highway 114. Mr. Casey asked-that the area
be zoned commercial for like purposes in order that he might proceed
wr
with plans for removal, relocating, etc,* of his buildings when and if_
the construction of the highway becomes a reality.
After general discussion, Paul Schell made the motion that such land
be zoned commercial, as is outlined in a plat on file with the City's
records. J. J. Carlile seconded the motion, and it carried.
There being no further business,! Earl Williams made a motion to adjourn
sC by J. D. Cate, no vote required to obtain unanimous approval.
