The regular city council meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by
Mayor J. L. Clow. Councilmen present were: J. D. Cate, Buddy Brown, J. J.
Carlile, Thurman Hearn and Mike O'Brien.
Minutes of June 4, 1968 were approved as corrected.

A large number of Southlake citizens were present at this meeting.
They were concerned about the council's action on mobile homes in South-
4 lake. Their lawyer, Mr. Al Clyde spoke for them. The mayor informed them
of their violation of the city's ordinance in continuing to live in mobile
homes without valid permits, and he further stated that the council would
carry out the enforcement of this ordinance.
Mr. McPherson was told that the council would look further into his
water problems concerning a misunderstanding as to the type of water
facilities that he was advised to use when he joined on to city water.
New Business - Thurman Hearn made the motion that the Planning and
4 Zoning Board be enlarged to 9 members. W. Carlile seconded the motion.
44 It carried unanimously.
,OR Thurman Hearn made a motion to raise Mr. Carlile's salary to $400.00
+ri per month with $225.00 for pick-up allowance and $175.00 for salary.
ANN% Mike O'Brien seconded the motion. There were four votes for and one
;Mwi abstaining.
A motion was made by Thurman Hearn to adopt a resolution annexing an
„ area of land extending in all directions 1/2 mile from current designated
boundaries of Southlake, Texas, Tarrant County, and to instruct the city
secretary to publish notice in the Grapevine Sun. Mike O'Brien seconded
the motion. It carried unanimously. July 9, 1968 at 7:30 p.m. in the
8outhlake City Hall would be the date for hearing on the annexation.

Mr. Carlile made the motion to adjourn and all voted yes after Mr. Cate
seconded the motion.
