1968-05-07 Minutes of May 7, 1968 The City Council was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Clow. Coun- cilmen present were: J.D. Cate, J.J. Carlile, Buddy Brown, Mike O'Brien and Thurman Hearn. Under old business, Mayor Clow stated that he had talked with Jinks Jones in regards to the stray animals in the city. The need for traffic lights at the intersection of 114 and Carroll Road was pointed our. A petition from citizens and a letter from the council was to be formed to present to the Highway Department. Under new business, the need for raising trailer permits were discussed. Buddy Brown made the motion that the permit fee for a trailer, mobile home or other temporary dwelling being used for temporary occupancy during the time the main family dwelling is under construction, be established at $25 for the six " month period. After the motion was seconded by Mike O'Brien, it passed una. Bennie Burrus presented the council with a request for rezoning the pro- perty in the Oaks addition in the Eads Survey. C.M. Gordon reported that the City Planning and Zoning Committee had recommended that the rezoning of this pro- perty be postponed until further consideration to all factors involved could be studied. J.J. Carlile made the motion that the decision on Bennie Burrus, rezoning be postponed until Carter and Burgess could make recommendations. The post- ponement not to exceed 6 weeks. Thurman Hearn seconded the motion and it car- ried unanimously. The officers of the Planning and Zoning Committee are as follows: C.M. Gordon-Chairman, Manuel Gonzales-Vice-Chairmen, Bob Messina-Secretary d J.J. Carlile made motion to adjourn. It passed unanimously after being seconded by J.D. Cate.
