1968-04-16 Minutes of April 16, 1968 After the oath of office was issued to the newly elected mayor, J.L. Clow, by Ben McClure, City Attorney, the city council was called to order at 7:30p m. Councilmen present were: J.J. Carlile, Buddy Brown, Mike O'Brien, and Thurman Hearn. The minutes of March 19, April 2 and the Special Meeting of April 69 1968 were read and approved as corrected. The council was asked by Mayor Clow to suggest a Mayor Pro-Tempore. Mr, Thurman Hearn was suggested and unanimously chosen for this position. Mrs. Gilbreath was present of find out form the council what action she should take in leasing a building on her property. Mayor Clow advised her to consult with the Planning and Zoning Board when she had a suitable leasee. f The following men were named to the Planning & Zoning Board: C.M. Gordon, Harold Knight, John Quinn, Bob Mussina and Manuel Gonzales. Mr.&Mrs. McConnell discussed with the council theft problem of nonsufficient footing to meet with the city ordinance on streets. Mr. Cline, acting water com<aissioner, told of a water customer being in de- fault as to his method of receiving city water. After much discussion as to what action should be taken and with no official motion being made, Mr. Cline, was advised to cut off this customer's water. Mr. Roger Baird related the woes of stray animals in the city and felt the council should tade some action on this problem. The council said they would try to find someone to pick-up and hold these animals for a period of time. Thurman Hearn made the motion to adjourn, which was seconded by Buddy Brown, and was carried unanimously. Approved By: Secretary Mayor r i l ill }
