Southlake City Council Meeting
March 7, 1967
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Paul Schell. Present were:
J. J. Carlile
Earl Williams
J. L. Clow.
W. H. Crumbaker
J. D. Cate

City Judge, Roger Baird►
The Council discussed the new appointment of Ted Kasper as commissioner P,
of Mobil Homes. This was the only discussion under old business.
Louise Barry a property owner in Southlake asked about getting water„
to her land she intends to develope. She showed the Council a map locating
the property, Mr. Carlile said in his opinion the property could be
given water, The matter was left up to Mr. Carlile for futher investigation
as to the cost.
Thett P,gr reported to the Council on the progress of the new City and
4"r building to be located on the dame site with the water facilities.
There was a discussion on the new building.
The Mayor read a letter from Lone Star Gas. Members of Lone Star Gas Co.
who were at the meeting gave the members of the City Council copies of
a new offer to serve the City of Southlake with gas. The Council considered 6
the offer a very good one and promised to take it into consideration.
No discussion was made at this meeting.
The represenative from Lone Star made a verbal appeal to the Council to
give the Lone Star offer their support, pointing out the advantages of
using the facilities of Lone Star. Members of the Council asked why
it had taken Lone Star so long to come up with a satisfactory offer. •
Dick O'Malley spoke on behalf of a Municipal Gas System. s

Roger Baird made a talk on Insurance and the hope that the new Southlake
Fire Department might help to get the fire insurance rates reduced.
Earl Williams made a motion that Roger Baird make a study of the City fire b
system for the purpose of getting a better fire insurance rate for the
community. Mr. Carlile seconded the motion. The motion carried.
The Mayor asked the Council to pay the telephone bill for the volunteer
Fire Department until the Fire Department has its funds. Motion was R"
made by Earl Williams and seconded by J. D. Cate. The motion carried.
J. D. Cate made a motion to pays the cost of bonds for the two policemen. ,
The motion was seconded by Les Clow. It carried unanimously.
