TEXAS 76051 January 3, 1967 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING, CITY OF SOUTHLAKE The meeting was called to order by Mayor, Paul Schell. Present were councilmen: J. L. Clow J. D. Cate Earl Williams J. J. Carlile and Chief of Police, Keller Austin Mr. Williams made a report on his contact of the community leaders on a future meeting on Southlake Municipal Gas System. Sc ,,e ff Mr. ~"'4'- a&an has also sent a new bid to F. H. A. on the proposed new city building. Mr. Austin has called on the horse shoeing school on Keller road. The owner reported he had not known he was within the city limits of a towm, and that he will keep the trailer and pickups from parking on the highway. He will also apply to the city for permit and zoning before making any changes or buildings. a There was a discussion on preventing vandalism to the city water system by various protecting devices. Mr. Williams made a meson that was seconded by Mr. Carlile to: 1. To install a warning system on the water well premises, an electric horn to be placed on t e light pole, with all wiring ? r1 1/ ti a , dd 2. Tamper proof all valves and lock lid to tank. 3. install a warning bell that will sound at Roger Baird's residence if the big pump is turned on. 4. Place a blind flange on vmbvw *wk. ~a ny, ✓ Q I v e The motion carried unanimously. The State Highway Patrol wants the Chief of Police to patrol Highway 114 while it is under construction. There was a discussion on buying a Police car and putting on some extra help in the police department. Mr. Austin was asked to work up some costs on an automobile and part time policemen. TEXAS 76051 January 3, 1967 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING, CITY OF SOUTHLAKE The mayor read a letter on Uniform Traffic Devices Manual, Mr. Clow moved that the City order the manual. The motion was 2nd by J. D. Cate. It carried unanimously. There was a discussion on Lone Star Gas latest proposal to the City of Southlake for a gas franchise. Copies were passed out to members of the council. Mr J. D. Cate made a motion to reject the Lone Star Proposal. l" The motion was seconded by J. L. Clow. The motion carried unanimously.
