Co. 100 P REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OCTOBER 21, 1969 m The City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, met in regular session in the Council Chamber of City Hall on Tuesday, October 21, 1969, with the following members present: J. L. Clow, Mayor Thurman Hearn, Mayor Pro Tem J. D. Cate, Jr., Councilman Michael J. O'Brien, Councilman Absent: W. B. Brown, Councilman Wade Booker, Councilman , Mayor Clow called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as read. Ir _Volunteer Fire Department Chief R. P. Steele was heard from. He requested permission from the Council to make up a specification sheet on which to acquire estimated cost figures on a new unit equipped with a John Bean pump. Councilman Hearn made the motion directing Chief Steele to prepare such specification sheet and ,fir! acquire cost figures as requested above; seconded by Councilman Cate. The motion carried unanimously.' Carter & Burgess, Inc. meeting was next reported on by Councilman Hearn. Cost of well, necessary lines, 500,000 gallon overhead storage tank and acquisition of land is $290,400- It was explained that this new system can be done in steps. The immediate problem is financing since the current bond market is practically at a standstill pending legislation " regarding the taxing of bond interest. Old business was presented by City Attorney W. D. Campbell regard- ing the disannexation ordinance for the property owned by Grape- vine Development Company, Inc. Mayor Clow read said ordinance to the Council, whereupon Councilman Hearn made a motion to accept this as Ordinance No. 168 which reflects the wishes of the Council+ as per the minutes of April 5, 1966; seconded by Councilman Cate. The motion carried unanimously. (Copy attached.) Police Department Chief G. D. Ince reported he was unable t serve a.ticket to J. C. Woods regarding the complaint signed by the Tarrant County Health Department because Mr. Woods is out of town. Chief Ince advised it would be issued when Mr. Woods returns. Clow, Mayor 101 M AWk ORDINANCE NO. ~6eB Iir AN ORDINANCE DISANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY FROM THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS WHEREAS, under authority of Article 970a, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes of 1925, as amended, request has been made by Grapevine Development Co., Inc. that the real pro- perty, described on Exhibit "A" attached hereto, be disannexed from the City of Southlake, Texas; and, s WHEREAS, the said property is solely owned by Grapevine Development Co., Inc; and, under existing facts, grounds for r such disannexation have been shown; and, WHEREAS, the above described territory forms a part of the existing City of Southlake, Texas; 1? BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS: ill The land and territory described on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof, such Exhibit "A" consisting of survey of David C. Moak dated October 14, 1966, with field notes attached dated April 16, 1965, in connection with tract 1 show- ing 3.248 acres of land and tract 2 showing .630 acres of land, is hereby disannexed from the City of Southlake, Texas, and said territory shall-hereinafter be considered as outside the boundary limits of the City of Southlake, Texas and not within its cor- porate city limits.
