1970-04-06 32 SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL APRIL 6, 1970 The City Council of the City of Southlake Texas, met in special session in the City Hall office on Monday, April 6, 1970, with the following members present: J. L. Clow, Mayor W. B. Brown, Councilman Wade Booker, Councilman J. D. Cate, Jr., Councilman ' Absent: Thurman Hearn, Councilman M. J. O'Brien, C ounc i lman Mayor Clow called the meeting to order at 7:45 P.M. The Council was informed that the purpose of this meet- ing was to canvass the votes of the Municipal Election held on April 4, 1970. Resolution No. 70-3 was read aloud by Mayor Clow which set forth the results of said election. ' WHEREUPON, a motion was made by Councilman Brown to adopt said Resolution (attached hereto and made a part hereof); seconded by Councilman Booker. Motion carried unanimously. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. C/Mayor ATTEST. i City Secretary 61 a 3 RESOLUTION NO. 70-3 WHEREAS, on the 4th day of April, 1970, an election was duly held in the City of Southlake, Texas, for the election of three City Council- men; and WHEREAS,. the results of said election were duly canvassed by the City Council of Southlake on the 6th day of April, 1970; and WHEREAS, the canvass showed the follow- ing results: City _Councilman - Place Three: -Ralph Polson 297 votes David Wayne Sparks 266 votes City Councilman - Place Four: Thurman Hearn 311 votes Robert McPherson 253 votes City Councilman - Place Five: Billy Joe Knox 287 votes Donald E. Russell 270 votes NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS, that; 1. The above canvass be and the same is hereby in all things approved. 2. Ralph Polson, Thurman Hearn and Billy Joe Knox be, and are hereby, declared to have been elected to the offices of City Councilmen, Places .Three, Four and Five respectively, to serve until April of 1972.
