Approval of Bills I~. 83 ow REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL JUNE 15, 1971 The City Council of the City of Southlake met in regular session in the Council Chamber of City Hall on Tuesday, June 15, 1971, with the following members present: Wade Booker, Mayor Ralph Polson, Mayor Pro Tem Thurman Hearn, Councilman Billy Joe Knox, Councilman W. 0. Nunn, Councilman R. D. Drummond, Councilman Also Present: William D. Campbell, Attorney Mayor Booker called the meeting to order at 7:45 P.M. The invoca- tion was given by Councilman Polson. The minutes of the last regular meeting were approved as read. The Public Hearing was opened on ZA- 1- by the reading of the ® Planning & Zoning Commission recommendation fdr approval of the request to a change in zoning from Ag District to A-3 Residen- tial on 17 acres of land and L District on 9 acres of land, more or less, out of the S. Freeman Survey, Abstract No. 525, by the owners, Pierce/Wood, Inc. The following citizens voiced various objections: Mms. Dunne, Culley, Gusta f son, Miller and Te trault, and Mssrs. Tetrault, Culley and Wayland.and Warren Allen. Mr. John Boyle, attorney representing Mr. Pierce, stated their views. Everyone having been heard, Councilman Polson moved that the re- quest as presented in ZA-71-4 be approved as to A-3 Residential and L (Light Commercial) Districts; seconded by Councilman Nunn. Motion carried, Councilman Drummond opposing. Orainanco Nu. 161-24 passed this 15th day of June, 1971. (Cgpy attached and made a part hereof.) ZA- 1- was next considered wherein Mrs. Zora Shumaker requests A-3 Residential District on her property on Sunshine Lane for the purpose of putting three houses thereon. Citizen Walter Garrett spoke in opposition to this request. Discussion followed, where- upon Councilman Polson moved that said request in ZA-71-5 be approved contingent upon a bar ditch being cut the eng of the property, a gravel roadbed be made according to the specifications of Tarrant County and the dedication of right-of-way to the City of Southlake; seconded by Councilman Drummond. Motion carried unanimously. It was stated for the record that the City will set ® its water meters on Sunshine Lane. Ordinance No. 161-25 passed this 15th day of June, 1971. (Copy attached and made a part hereof.) 84 Councilman Knox moved that the resignation of Jud Joyce as are Marshal be accepted and that he be appointed Assistant are Chief; seconded by Councilman Nunn. Motion carried unanimously. 3 Councilman Polson moved that the City of Southlake accept the gift of a parcel of land out of the F. Throop Survey, Abstract 3 No. 1511, being 0.15 acres of land, more or less, from Mr. and Mrs. Elmer P. Allison; seconded by Councilman Knox. Motion carried unanimously. (Copy of plat attached.) 3 RESOLUTION NO. 71-12, wherein a partial payment of $11,683.08 is to be made to Allison & Henry for work on Well Site No. 2 out of the Water System checking account, was passed and approved on motion by Councilman Hearn; seconded by Councilman Knox. RESOLUTION NO. 71-1 3, wherein it was necessary to change work on crossing FM 1709 from an open cut to a cased bore revising the total contract price to $30,980.00 to Allison & Henry on Well Site No. 2, etas- p&a a:d and 'appreved on motion by Councilman Knox; sec- onded by Councilman Drummond. Motion carried unanimously. (Copy attached and made a part hereof.) The bills presented were approved for payment on motion by Council- man Polson; seconded by Councilman Nunn. Motion carried unanimousl-t,, (Watco Air Conditionin -$20; Universal Fire Equipment Co.-$16; Voertman's Book Store-9.55•) Councilman Polson moved to have new shocks put on the 70 Plymouth patrol car at a cost of $50.00; seconded by Councilman Knox. Motion carried unanimously. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. Respectfully submitted, ' • James o re ' if 85 ORDINANCE NO. 161-24 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 161 OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLABE BY AMENDING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF SEVENTEEN ACRES OF LAND, MORE OR LESS, OUT OF THE SAMUEL FREEMAN SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO. 525, FROM AG (AGRICULTURE) DISTRICT TO A-3 (RESIDENTIAL) DISTRICT AND FURTHER AMEND- ING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF NINE ACRES OF LAND, MORE OR LESS, OUT OF THE SAME SURVEY FROM AG (AGRICULTURE) DIS- TRICT TO L (LIGHT COMMERCIAL) DISTRICT. WHEREAS, after receipt of request for change of zoning, notice given to applicable property owners of public hearing, notice of public hearing published, and public hearing having been conducted, all in compliance with Ordinance No. 161 of the City of Southlake, Texas, NOW, THEREFORE, Be it Ordained by the City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas: c SECTION 1. The certain Ordinance No. 161 passed by the City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, January 7, 1969, and being the "Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance" is hereby amended insofar as the seventeen acres of land, more or less, owned by Miles Pierce and L. L. The said Ordinance No. 161, except as amended by this Ordinance No. 161-24 and prior ordinance amendments, remains in effect in all other respects as originally passed.
