:A GE ND.A REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING JANUARY 197=1 HAPPY NEW YEAR! i 1. Public Hearing ; on Annexation of J. R. Keeton - Dart & Martin Surveys i 2. Police Report 3.' Fire Report 4.. 'Ambulance Ordinance J 5. Airport Ordinance (proposed by COG) 6. City Matters a. Bills b. Fireworks Ordinance Amendment c. Employes Salary Raises 3 Ambulance Ordinance was next discussed. The motion was made by Councilman Knox to adopt Ordinance No. 181 regulating ambulance service within the City; seconded by Councilman Polson. Motion carried unanimously. (The City Secretary was directed to mail copies of same to the local ambulance ser- vices as well as Hurst, Lewisville and Fort Worth companies.) Councilman Brown moved to approve for payment the bills pre- sented; seconded by Councilman Booker. Motion carried un- animously. More discussion was had regarding the amending of the present Fireworks Ordinance to attempt prohibition of the sale and/or shod ting of fireworks beyond our corporate limits. It was the opinion of Mr. Campbell that as a general law city South- lake could not do this but he would check still further. On motion by Councilman Booker, seconded by Councilman Knox, the following salary increases were granted: Sgt..Dan Cordes $35, Officer Gaddy, $25, Clerk Burch $20, Dispatcher Staley $25, City Secretary Wallace $25. The motion carried unanimously. The Mayor told the Council that Jerry Gilliland, who makes electrical inspections for the City, has donated his services for the months of September through December. Page 2 ORDINANCE NO., AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF SOUTH- LA , THXAS, PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHALL BECOME A PART OF SAID CITY AND THAT THE OWNERS AND INHABITANTS THERROF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL THE PRIVILEGES OF THE OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID CITY, AND BE BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORD- INANCES NOW IN CT AND TO BE HEREINAFTER ADOPTED; FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AMENDING AND CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARINS OF SAID CITY AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED AS AMENDED AND DRSIGNATING TIM ZONING AS "AG" (AGRICULTURE) DISTRICT; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Keeton, Jr.,, of Dallas County, Texas, owner of the real property herein- after described, having made application as by law provided to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Southlake, Texas, for annexation of a tract of land situated in Tarrant County, Texas, out of the Haire of Christopher Dart and W. H. Martin Surveys, more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: Being a portion of a certain tract of land conveyed to Guy A. Robinson by R. B. Martin, by deed dated December 4, 19411, and recorded in Volume 1481, Page 344, Deed Records, Tarrant County, Texas, and BEGINNING at a concrete monument in the South line of said Heirs of Christopher Dart Survey, 1620.0 feet South 89 deg. 39 min. West from the Southeast corner of said Survey; said beginning point being in the South line of said Guy A. Robinson tract; THENCE South 89 deg. 39 rain. West 400 feet to a point for corner; THENCE North 0 deg. 32 min. West 438.20 feet to a point for corner; t THENCE North 89 deg. 39 min. West 405.0 feet to a point for corner; THENCE South 538.12 feet to the Point of Beginning; And BEM NNI NG at a concrete monument in the South line of said Heirs of Christopher Dart Survey, 2020 feet South 89 dog. 39 min. THAT, the property hereinabove described being adjacent and contiguous to the city limits of Southlake, Texas, be and is 1 hereby annexed and brought within the Corporate Limits of said City and is hereby made an integral part thereof. 2. THAT, the owners and inhabitants of the area herein annexed be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of other citizens and property owners of said .City and be bound by all of the acts and ordinances made in conformity thereto, now in full force and effect and that which may be hereafter adopted. 3. THAT, the official map and boundaries of the City of Southlake, Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended, be and is hereby amended so as to include the aforementioned territory as part of the City of Southlake, Texas. 4- THAT, in accordance with Section IV-4 of Ordinance No. 161 , the land made the basis of this annexation proceeding is hereby zoned "Ag" Agriculture District.
