RM ILAR M EETIN3 OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 17, 1972
The City Council of the City of Southlake met in regular session
in the Council Chamber of City Hall in Southlake, Texas, on Tues-
day, October 17th, 1972, with the following members present:
Wade Booker, Mayor
Billy Joe Knox, Councilman
W. 0. Nunn, Councilman
R. D. Drummond, Councilman
Etank Tetrault, Councilman
J. A. Perez, Councilman
Also present: W. D. Campbell, City Attorney.
The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:40 P.M. The invocation
was given by Councilman Nunn.
The minutes of the last regular meeting were approved as read.
® The public hearing of the request of J. T. Robinson for annexation
to the City of Southlake was opened for discussion. There being
none, Councilman Knox moved that Ord'inarice N6.,1,93 be passed and
approved annexing an acre of land belonging to t hg said J. T.
Robinson out of the Dart Survey described by metes and bounds
in said ordinance; seconded by Councilman Nunn. Motion carried
unanimously. (Copy attached and made a part hereof.)
_ Elizabeth Stickley was unable to appear to present her report on
the Parks and Recreation meeting held in Hurst.
Councilman Tetrault reported on the Library meeting he attended in
Fort Worth. He stated that money received from Tarrant County for
municipal library purposes is to be budgeted and that all the money
received must be spent for material only and none for overhead.
The City Secretary reported on the Community Development workshop.
Councilman Knox moved that the bills presented be approved for pay-
ment; seconded by Councilman Drummond. Motion carried unanimously.
Councilman Knox moved that a traffic diagram board be purchased
at an approximate cost of $75 for use in the Municipal Court;
seconded by Councilman Nunn. Motion carried unanimously.
Councilman Nunn volunteered to attend the COG General Assembly
meeting in Arlington October 25th.
The Mayor announced that the TAIL Convention would be held in Dallas

November 12-14.
Citizen H. M. Hunter appeared before the Council requesting that
something be done about burglaries occurring in his neighborhood.
The Mayor advised that 80% of police time is devoted to survel-
lience but Southlake is so large it is extremely difficult to
give constant coverage to all parts at one time. Discussion
' followed.
1 Citizen Manuel Gonzalez asked the Council about the progress of
the sewer engineering study. As a member of the Planning & Zoning
Commission, he asked for clarification of ZA-72-12.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.

OF SAID CITY AND THAT THE OWNERS AND '

TO ALL THE PRIVILEGES OF THE OTHER
CITIZENS OF SAID CITY, AND BE BOUND BY
THE ACTS AND ORD.-INANCES NOW IN EFFECT
1 AND TO BE HEREINAFTER ADOPTED; FURTHER
PROVIDING FOR AMENDING AND CORRECTING
THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY AS '
HERETOFORE ADOPTED AS AMENDED AND DESIG-

WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Acts of 1953,
53rd Legislature, Page 357, Chapter 93, codified as Article
974-G, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, J. T. Robinson and wife,
Donna L. Robinson, of Tarrant County, Texas, owners of the real
property hereinafter described, having made application as by law
provided to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Southlake,
' Texas, for annexation of a tract of land situated in Tarrant County,
Texas, out of the Christopher Dart Survey, more particularly des-
cribed by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point, the NE corner of a tract of
17-35/100 acres of land conveyed to Porter R. Higgins
by E. T. Higgins, et al, by Deed dated February 251
1948, recorded in Volume 1985, Page 577, Deed Records,
11 Tarrant County, Texas;
THENCE West 220 feet, a stake in the North line of
the Dart Survey;
THENCE South 200 feet to a stake,
THENCE East 220 feet to a stake;
THENCE North 200 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING, and
containing one acre more or less.
+ A plat of said land showing its location with respect to
the boundary of the City of Southlake, Texas, is attached hereto
j marked EXHIBIT "A"; And
WHEREAS, it appearing to the City Council of the City of
Southlake, Texas, that all statutory requirements in connection
with said proposed annexation have been fulfilled and that the
above described area is not more than-one-half mile in width, that
not more than three qualified voters reside thereon, and that the
same is adjacent to the present city limits of the City of Southlake,
Texas,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTHLARE, TEXAS:
1.
THAT, the property hereinabove described being adjacent and contig-
uous to the city limits of Southlake, Texas, be and is hereby
i annexed and brought within the corporate limits of said City and
is hereby made an integral part thereof.
2.
THAT, the owners and inhabitants of the area herein annexed be
entitled to all of the rights and privileges of other citizens
and property owners of said City and be bound by all of the acts
and ordinances made in conformity thereot, now in full force and
' effect and that which may be hereafter adopted.
3.
THAT, the official map and boundaries of the City of Southlake, T
Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended, be and is hereby amended
so as to include the aforementioned territory as part of the City
of Southlake, Texas.
4.
1 THAT, in accordance with Section IV-4 of Ordinance No. 161, the
' land made the basis of this annexation proceeding is hereby zoned
"Ag" (Agriculture) District.
' THIS Ordinance shall became effective from and after its passage
and approval.
