1972-07-29 118 CITY OF SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS MEETING OF THE TAX EQUALIZATION BOARD JULY 29, 1972 Members: Elizabeth Stickley, L. A. Casey, James Winfrey Also present: Maurice E. Whiteside, Tax Assessor for the City of Southlake. The meeting opened at 9 A.M. Saturday, July 29, 1972, in the Council Chamber of City Hall in Southlake, Texas, upon the members being duly sworn upon oath. Discussion was had regarding raising property values inasmuch as a re-evaluation has not been done throughout the City since 1968. L. A. Casey moved that the Board recommend to the City Council that the City of Southlake be re-evaluated in time for the 1973 Tax Roll in order that values are more current with fair market prices; seconded by James Winfrey. Motion carried unanimously. Robert L. Garner appeared before the Board. He had rendered ® his property at $600 per acne and the Assessor placed the value at $2,000. Mr. Garner advised he also spoke for his father. After checking comparable values in the area, the Board determined that his taxes and his father's were fair and equitable as valued by the Assessor.
