REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
May, 16, 1972
The City Council of the City of Southlake met in regular session
in the Council Chamber of City Hall in Southlake, Texas, on Tues-
day, May 16, 1972, with the following members present:
Ralph Polson, Mayor Pro Tem
W. 0. Nunn, Councilman
R. D. Drummond, Councilman
Frank Tetrault, Councilman
Absent: Wade Booker, Mayor
Billy Joe Knox, Councilman
Also present: William D. Campbell, City Attorney.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro Tem Polson at 7:35 PM.
The invocation was given by Rev. W. W. Hayes.
The minutes of the last regular meeting were approved as read.
® Fire Chief Bob Steele reported $388.58 has been spent thus far on
equipping #3008. With planned purchases and some minor repairs
still needed, Chief Steele requested $290 more, over and above the
previously allotted $500. It was so moved by Councilman Nunn;
seconded by Councilman Tetrault. Motion carried unanimously.
Police Chief Hughes requested $75 (plus ammunition cost of $10)
for tuition for training the new officer, Talbert Lee, hired to
take the place of Buddy Venable who has left to work for Lewisville.
It was so moved by Councilman by Councilman Nunn, seconded by
Councilman Tetrault. Motion carried unanimously. He also re-
quested $35 for a seminar in police activities to be held at the
Regional Police Academy to be attended by him. It was granted on
motion of Councilman Tetrault; seconded by Councilman Nunn. Motion
carried unanimously.
ZA-72-4: The City's request to change zoning on property located
at tie southwest corner of Kimball Avenue and Dove owned by C. W.
Long, correcting a non-conforming use and in conformance with the
Master Plan, was set for public hearing June 20th, 7:30 P.M.
Bel-Air Estates: Mr. Bart Bradford and Mr. Gene Worrell of Carter
& Burgess, Inc., advised that all the problems have not as yet been
worked out on the plat and that they have not received a corrected
plat as yet and recommended that no action be taken by the Council
E until such deficiencies are corrected. Councilman Nunn moved to

table the matter until such details are worked out; seconded
by Councilman Tetrault. Motion carried unanimously.
Street signs were next discussed by the Council and Councilman
Tetrault moved that the Citypurchase ten street signs at this
time; seconded by Councilman Drummond. Motion carried unanimously.
Councilman Drummond called the Council's attention to the matter
of a violation of the City;s zoning ordinance on property owned
by Howard Thrasher located at the northwest corner of Northwest
Parkway and White Chapel Boulevard. Following discussion,
Councilman Drummond moved that the Chief of Police start issuing
citations on a daily basis following May 26th if such violation
still exists; seconded by Councilman Tetrault. Motion carried
unanimously.
Councilman Drummond stated that street maps were available at
the City office for $1 each. The Council thanked Mr. Lloyd Wolf
for his work in this matter.
The City Attorney advised the Council that the boundary mace with
Grapevine is set for June 5th.
Bart Bradford presented the Council with copies of the amended
community facilities agreement for Southlake Estates.
® Mayor Pro Tem Polson introduced Terry Craig and his wife. Mr.
Craig is in the run-off for State Representative District 42.
The bills presented were approved for payment on motion by Council-
man Drummond, seconded by Councilman Tetrault. Motion carried
unanimously.
Discussion followed regarding animal control.
There being no further businessr the meeting adJjourned.

TO: The City Council of Southlake
At its regular meeting Tuesday, May 9, 1972, the Planning 0° '
Zoning Commission recommended for approval the change in
zoning from Ag District to L District (Light Commercial) '
the property owned by C. W. (Bill) Lang, described by metes
and bounds in ZA 72 4 on motion by Elizabeth Stickley, seconded
by Gail Hargadine and passed unanimously. It was strongly
recommended that consideration be given to obtaining right-
of-way for the Outer Loop Thoroughfare and proper set back
lines for parking and buildings.

TO: The City Council of Southlake
At its regular meeting held Tuesday, May 9, 1972, the Planning
& Zoning Commission approved the final plat of Bel-HitlEstates
as proposed by Manuel Gonzalez and turned same over to the City
for filing upon the completion of a Community Facilities Agree-
ment.
